How do I fix frequent Booking.com configuration errors?

When availability updates are failing, the ADS message logs are checked in order to resolve these errors. In order to resolve the errors found on the ADS message logs the below steps need to be followed:
1. ADS Message Logs
  1. To access the messages navigate to Tools -> System Administration -> Interfaces -> ADS -> View ADS Message Logs.
  1. Select the drop downs specific to the OTA (in this scenario Booking.com) and the Property, then select the eRes Type and click on the "Search" button.
  1. The search will return the latest inventory or rate messages last uploaded to the OTA's. The "Sent" message contains what has been sent to the OTA's, whereas the "Received" message contains success or error messages. 
  1. In order to view these messages highlight the message by clicking on it and click on the "View" button, thereafter click on the "Pretty Print" button in the bottom right-hand corner. 
  1. Please see the below examples of frequent errors received.
1.1 Error Type=3 Code=402 RatePlanCode not active for InvTypeCode
<Errors> <Error Type="3" Code="402" Status="NotProcessed" ShortText="RatePlanCode '937165' not active for InvTypeCode '1516503'" /> </Errors> 
  1. This error is caused by the specific Rate Code not being linked to the Room Type specified on the Booking.com extranet. 
  1. Usually this Rate Code is mapped in eRes and sending rates to Booking.com, but Booking.com is rejecting the update as there is no link for the Room Type-> Rate Code combination in Booking.com.
  1. The user can decide to either remove the Rate mapping in eRes (should the rate not need to be mapped as its is no longer valid) or to link the Room Type to the Rate in Booking.com.
1.2 Error Type=1 Code=367 Not allowed to update Single Use Rate for Room 

<Error Type="1" Code="367" Status="NotProcessed" ShortText="Not allowed to update Single Use Rate for Room 'Triple Room' (4849084021) because Single Use Rate 'Standard Rate' (14209408) is not activated for this Room, please contact Bookings to activate this Rate Category" /
  1. This error refers to a setting that needs to be changed on the Booking.com extranet to allow for Single Use Rates (or single occupancy rates for the room), as this is not supported for the current Room configuration.

1.3 Access denied or Hotel not allowed for connection type / HOTEL_NOT_ALLOWED_FOR_CONNECTION_TYPE
  1. Click on "Connection Status" to check that the connection is properly activated.
  2. Check if the property has been connected to eRes-HTI-Booking-com Machine account – done by HTI.
  3. Accept connection for property on connectivity portal – done by HTI.
  4. Property has been hidden on  eRes yet is still sending reservation requests, unhide the property on eRes and remove the rates, rooms and property from Booking.com ADS mapping.
  5. Sending reservation requests when the property is only enabled for Rates and Availability for Booking.com – disconnect the connection from eRes and reconnect eRes channel manager and choose correct connection type.

1.4 Updating availability hasn't been enabled for hotel 0000

  1. You have not activated the connection in the booking.com extranet. Please log into your booking.com extranet and activate the connection.

1.5 SINGLE_USE_PRICING_PASSED_FOR_RLO_RATE

  1. Booking.com does not allow you to send a single price.
  2. Request Booking.com XML support to activate Single Rate

1.6 Not allowed to update Single Use Rate for Room or CANNOT_SET_SINGLE_USE_RATE

  1. Booking.com have not activated a single occupancy price for the room.
  2. Either ask Booking.com to allow a single price (set up a "Single" rate id)

1.7 OBP_PRICING_PASSED_FOR_DEFAULT_RATE

  1.  Your Booking.com Rate Type is "Per Occupancy". Request your Booking.com account manager to activate occupancy based pricing.
  2. <Error Type="3" Code="44" RecordID="1" Status="NotProcessed" ShortText="BaseByGuestAmt (NumberOfGuests=&quot;1&quot;): supplied number of guests '1' doesn't match the room's maximum number of guests '2'. This room rate doesn't support occupancy based pricing for rate id xxxxxxx and room id xxxxxx" />​

1.8 WARN_PRICE_TOO_LOW_LIMIT

  1. Booking.com expects a price in a certain price range.
  2. Either adjust your price in NebulaCRS or try to change the limitation at Booking.com

1.9 Rate is not active or RATE_NOT_ACTIVE or RATE_NOT_ACTIVE_FOR_ROOM

  1. You do not have an active Booking.com rate id with this number. Please double check your rates and daily prices and mapped the correct rate code ID.
  2. The room type does not have this rate plan assigned, for example Self catering rate and Bed and Breakfast rate is loaded on the room type on NebulaCRS yet on Booking.com only self self catering rate is loaded. Add the rate to the room type on Booking.com or remove the bed and breakfast rate from the room type on NebulaCRS

1.10 Room is not active or ROOM_NOT_ACTIVE

  1. Booking.com has not activated the room for selling. Please ask Booking.com to activate it and check the room id is correct.

1.11 ROOM_DOES_NOT_EXIST

  1. This error comes up when the room ID does not belong to the property.
  2. Check the mapping for the room matches the ID from Booking.com on ADS settings on eRes.

1.12 Rate 123456 cannot be updated via XML

  1. This rate has not been activated for channel management. Ask Booking.com to activate it.

1.13 Rate does not exist

  1. You have added a number which is not a valid Booking.com rate id into ADS mapping for Booking.com Rates.

1.14 hotel 'xxxxx' not allowed for user 'eRes-HTI-Booking-com'

  1. Check if you have received a notification from Booking.com that the connection is ready.
  2. If not please check in the Booking.com extranet that the connection has been requested.
  3. If yes please check the Booking.com hotel id you have entered is correct and does not have blank spaces.
  4. Check the property has been linked to the machine account and eRes has accepted the connection – this must be done by HTI.
  5. Property has been disconnected from eRes channel manager but the mapping has not been removed from ADS settings on eRes.

1.15 Hotel 'xxxxx' not allowed for user'

  1.  Check if you have received a notification from Booking.com that the connection is ready.
  2. If not please check in the Booking.com extranet that the connection has been requested.
  3. If yes please check the Booking.com hotel id you have entered is correct and does not have blank spaces.
  4. Check the property has been linked to the machine account and eRes has accepted the connection – this must be done by HTI.
  5. Property has been disconnected from eRes channel manager but the mapping has not been removed from ADS settings on eRes

1.16 Room/rate combination is not active

  1. Your codes are not correctly mapped. Check you have entered the right Booking.com mapping codes.
  2. You have added a number which is not a valid Booking.com rate id into ADS mapping for Booking.com Rates.
  3. The room type does not have this rate plan assigned, for example Self catering rate and Bed and Breakfast rate is loaded on the room type on NebulaCRS yet on Booking.com only self self catering rate is loaded. Add the rate to the room type on Booking.com or remove the bed and breakfast rate from the room type on NebulaCRS.

1.17 Room reservation does not belong to this hotel reservation

  1. The booking was already cancelled in Booking.com before the Channel synchronisation.

1.18 INVALID_DATE

  1. Date is of invalid format, or date is in the past, please use YYYY-MM-DD
1.19 Error 401: Authorization Required

  1. Check that the property is linked to the machine account.
  2. Correct the username and/ or password entered on Booking.com ADS settings on eRes.
  3. Has eRes accepted the connection.
  4. Has the property confirmed the connection on Booking.com

1.20  Error Code="ROOM_ELEMENT_REQUIRED" ShortText="Room is missing" Details=""

  1. This error returns on all the initial availability messages from Booking.com to NCRS.
  2. Check your Availability and Rates URL's on the Booking.com configuration.
