How do I setup a Promotion in NebulaCRS for my website?

How do I setup a Promotion in NebulaCRS for my website?

The NebulaCRS Revenue settings can only be accessed by system administrators or users with the applicable rights.

In order to create a Promotion that can be booked on your website via Booknow the below steps need to be followed:
Promotion Code Restriction
Promotions are specials that the hotel advertises in e.g. the newspaper or on websites. These rates are usually discounted.

The rates are also property-specific, date range specific, and source code specific. Promotional rates are associated with a promotion code, which must be entered on the reservation (either on eRes or BookNow) to make the restricted promotional rate available.

The promotion code would typically be quoted by the prospective guests at the time of making the reservation. Once entered on the reservation the promotional rate is made available to the current reservation session.

To add a Promotion restriction navigate to  Revenue -> Restrictions on NebulaCRS.

Start the process by clicking on the "New" button:
  1. Start and End date: Specify the start and end date of this restriction. The restriction/promotion will thus be valid over these dates.
  1. Rate Codes: Tick which Rate Codes will be affected.
  1. Properties:  The Restriction may be Property specific or it may be valid at all properties. Tick the Property applicable to or leave unticked for all properties.
  1. Room Category:  Restrictions may be Room Category specific. Select the Room catgeory from the list, property must be selected. If this is applicable to all Room Categories at all Properties, leave the field blank.
  1. Channels: Restrictions may be Channel specific or they may be left blank to act as a generic for all Channels. Tick the channel applicable or leave as is to facilitate a generic for all Channels. If (for example) the Channel is set to Web then the Restriction will only be valid for Web interfaces, meaning the restriction for Channels GDS and CRS will still be open for sale, or unrestricted.
  1. Source Codes: Tick which Source codes the restriction should apply to. If all Source codes are affected, leave all Unticked.
  1. Rule 1 Restriction Type: Select Promotion from the drop down list
  1. Rule 1 Parameter: Parameter refers to the variable for the Restriction type. The parameter will be different for each type selected. Some parameters only require a number where others only require ticks in the check boxes. In this scenario a Promotion code needs to be entered here for example: PROMO. Maximum 10 characters
  1. Rule 1 : Apply Rule: Apply Rule refers to when (on which days of the week) the Rule should be applied or enforced.
  1. Apply Across Properties: Enables the evaluation of Restrictions across all Properties booked per reservation.
  1. Alternate Restriction (OR): It is possible to apply two rules at the same time to make a combination of restrictions. The OR "Operator" to indicate to eRes if the first rule should be used in or the second rule can apply. Usually the promotion rule is used as a stand alone restriction.
  1. Rule 2 Restriction Type: If building a second Restriction type specify the type of Restriction that you are currently building here. Select Restriction from the drop down list
  1. Rule 2 Parameter: Parameter refers to the variable for the Restriction type. The parameter will be different for each type selected. Some parameters only require a number where others only require ticks in the check boxes.
  1. Rule 2: Apply Rule: Apply Rule refers to when (on which days of the week) the Rule should be applied or enforced.
Once all the above has been entered, click on the save button.
Navigate to Publish
Tick the restriction and then click on Publish

The restriction will now be applicable.
