To add a new room type follow the below steps.
A room category is required when adding a room type, if the room category does not exist you will need to create this first.

Room Category:
- Navigate to Inventory > Room Categories
- Click on New
- Input Code and Description, show tick must be on.
- Click on Save
* The code must be unique.

Room Type:
- Navigate to Inventory > Inventories
- Select the property from the drop-down list
- Click on New, input the applicable fields
- General
- Code: Provide a unique (uppercase) alphanumeric code per Inventory. Do not input spaces or special characters.
- Name: Inventory Name. Do not use &, / or - in the room type name.
- Room Category: Select Room Category from the list.
- Units: The total number of units (rooms) in Inventory.
- Show: Place a tick in the 'Show' box if this Inventory should be Shown
- Max Pax: The maximum number of Guests allowed in this room. Max Pax consists of Max Adults plus Max Kids.
- Max Adults: Maximum number of Adults allowed in this room.
- Max Kids: Maximum number of Kids allowed in this room.
- On Request Limit: Set the number of units that are classified as On Request. Inventory or a portion of Inventory may be marked as being on-request for room types that are very specific, and not easily substituted (i.e. handicap accessible). When these room types are created, we set
a minimum threshold on their availability, and when a booking is taken against Inventory below that threshold, eResĀ® automatically flags it as On-Request. These bookings are taken as on-request, with the acceptance or decline contingent on confirmation back from the Property. Once the Property has confirmed availability, the outcome must be entered directly, selecting to either decline or confirm the booking. This update is logged as part of the booking history.
- PMS Code: Used to record the (interface) PMS Inventory code.
- Same Day: Used to indicate if the Inventory could be used for day use rooms.
- Seq: Set the display sequence here.
- Description: This field may be utilized to describe the room's characteristics.

- Non Revenue: Allows the user to add non-revenue items to the list of Inventory. Items such as package inclusive game drives where the user would like to keep record of Inventory, falls into this category. Non-revenue items are excluded from revenue and occupancy calculations when running reports.
- Features - Inventory features are used to define features pertaining to Inventory. This is not required if this is not defined on other room types. Features are characteristics that make individual room types unique, such as views, bed types and smoking or non-smoking attributes. Room features are especially important for instances where booking by room category is enabled via the API. In this case the API Requestor will typically send the room category code along with features of the preferred room to book.

- Bed Type: Select the bed type from the drop down list. The bed types represent the OTA standard bed type codes, which is non amendable.
