How do I create Item reductions for side options or menu options which are zero value?
Please Note
PlusPoint version must be 1.99 rev 0912 or higher to have non stock items with zero price.
- Non-Stock Sales items can have a price set to zero.
- The
side and other options which were built as Standard remarks (included
on the meal) can now be built as Non-Stock items with a zero price
attached.
- The item reductions can then be done against those Non-Stock items to allow for stock to be reduced.
- For example when a burger with an option of a side of chips or salad was sold in the past, this item either had to be built as burger and chips or burger and salad or only the burger recipe items reduced but not the side option, or the most expensive side option was reduced.
- The menu item choices instead of using the standard remarks will now use the Non-Stock item which has the item reduction built.
- When the item is sold both the main item and side choice will both reduce the stock items.
Please see below steps as to how this can be achieved:
1. Non-Stock Sales Item
- Create a Non-Stock item.
- Ensure "Allow zero price" is ticked.
- Input your item reductions for the side.
- Change your menu pages for the side, to use the Non-Stock item instead of the Standard remark. Or create new menu pages for these options.
When the waiters now select the option it will use the Non-Stock item instead of the Standard remark.
