How to Install an Epson TM-T88VI LAN printer
1. To setup an Epson Printer, follow the steps below:
The IP addresses are assigned by the router and, they are the unique identifier for each device on a network so they can all talk to each other.
An example of an IP address is 192.168.0.0 or 10.0.0.0
- Put paper into the printer.
- Make sure the plug is connected to the printer and has power, ensure the LAN/Network cable is connected to the printer.
- Turn the printer on. Ensure the Printer powers up and the lights are on.
- Switch the printer off and press and hold the paper feed button while turning the printer back on. After turning the printer back on, a report will print out; release the paper feed button as soon as this report begins to print. At the bottom of the paper there will be an IP Address, Subnet Mask, and Default Gateway.
- Alternatively, the printer can be reset please see how to reset the printer.
- Next Open a browser on your device. (This device needs to be connected to the same network as the printers.)
- On the address bar, type in the IP address of the printer for example: https://192.168.0.116
- Click on the ‘Advanced’ button at the bottom of the page.
- Select ‘Proceed to 192.168.0.116 unsafe’ at the bottom of the page.
- You will be asked to sign into the page using a username and password. Should this be the first initial sign in the username will be: epson and the password will be the serial number on the printer. Should you need to sign in after the first time the password will be epson as well.
- Navigate to the Wireless TCP/IP settings under the Configuration -> Authentication menu. Click on the ‘Acquiring the IP Address’ drop down menu and select Manual instead of Auto.
- Please note this is essential to ensure that the IP address stays Static.
- In the same menu, change the last three digits of the IP Address to 160 (i.e 192.168.1.160). Please ensure that this IP address is not already in use and is in the range of the IP addresses available by running an IP config on the command prompt on a computer linked to the network.
- Select ‘Send’. Thereafter the ‘Reset’ button must be selected to reset to the new IP Address.
- Once this has been done the below screen will be displayed.
Please note the IP address is being changed and the below error might be displayed on the screen.
- Simply enter the new IP address into the URL and login using the Epson username and password.
- Next, navigate to the TM-Intelligent Menu and select the ‘Epson NetConfig for TM-I’ setting.
- Under this menu navigate to ‘Services’ and select the ‘e-POS-Device’ setting.
- Please ensure this setting is enabled, this will then automatically enable the ePOS Print function, as seen below. If this is not enabled it might be the cause of the printer not printing from NebulaPOS.
