How do I setup Childrens Rates in NebulaCRS?

How do I setup Childrens Rates in NebulaCRS?

Up to three Children's/Kids age groups can be configured in NebulaCRS, namely K1, K2 and K3. The rates can then be defined per age group.
1. Age Groups
  1. Age Groups are defined under Rates -> Base Rates -> Options, this is defined per property.
  1. The age categories will assist in specifying which age group, the K1, K2, and K3 rates should be.
  1. API's and BookNow utilises the age groups when they book for children. The age groups are usually defined when the property is first built on NebulaCRS.
1.1 Defining Age Groups
To define the Age groups follow the below steps:
  1. In NebulaCRS navigate to Rates -> Base Rates.
  1. Click on the "Options" toggle (on the right side of the screen)
  1. Define Age groups. It will be K1 at the top, K2 in the middle and K3 last. Be sure that when inputting the ages, the same age is not inputted in 2 places. Example K1 to age is 2 and K2 from age is 2, this will "confuse" which rate should be utilised.
  1. Once the Age groups are defined click on "Save".

2. Children's Rates
To define Children's rates, this is done per rate code, however the setting "This Hotel has special rates for Kids" must be on/active.

2.1 Setting: "This Hotel has special rates for Kids"
  1. In NebulaCRS navigate to Rates -> Base Rates.
  2. Click on the "Options" toggle (on the right side of the screen)
  3. Tick the box for "This Hotel has special rates for Kids"
  1. Click on the "Save" button.
Once you have saved this, the K1, K2 and K3 fields will be available to input children's rates:

2.2 Defining Children's Rates
To Load Children's Rates follow the below steps:
  1. In NebulaCRS navigate to Rates -> Base Rates.
  1. Select the property, period, rate code and currency (optional) where the children's rates will be defined.
  1. Under Base rates define the rate for each category according to age groups, K1, K2 and K3.
  1. If the Rates differ per room category, then scroll down and override them on the room category.
  1. Once the children's rates have been defined, navigate to the Demand Calendar and proceed to paint the Demand calendar for the property, period and rate.
  1. Lastly Publish the Rate code.
You will need to do this for each Base rate which has children's rates.

Please note
  1. Take note of the max kids defined on the room and/or rate to check if the number of children allowed are defined.
  1. Linked Rate Codes will also receive the children rates as defined on the base rate code.
  1. Not all Channels support children rates. If children rates are loaded and the channel does not support it, the rates will not be sent.
  1. The Meal plan supplement does not change between child and adult, it will apply the same amount. Room surcharges are not applied to children's rates.
  1. There is no split between a Single child or a Sharing child.
  1. Optional eRes setting defined how children rates will calculate (These settings need to be activated by your Client Success Team, this affects whole eRes instance and not per property). Not applicable for Managed Services clients.
    1. Pax.IncludeKids  - Exclude children as part of the UpToPax rate calculation.
    2. LinkedRates.DiscountKids - Will enable the user to specify whether Kids Rates (K1 - 3) to be affected by the percentage addition or 'discount' as defined.
on the Linked Rate setup. Linked rates calculation, the linked rate calculation can ignore the children rate amounts and not apply the calculation to children's rates.
    3. Rates.TreatKidAsSharing - Default enabled, will charge the sharing rate for the adult, if one adult and one or more kids share a room.
