Under the Outlet configuration, there is a new setting called "Allow tax exemptions on an invoice?" 
When a tax exemption is applied or removed, it will be recorded in the User Action History under resource "Invoice Tax Exemption"
The Invoice Printing Template has been updated as well to allow more customisation of the new tax related fields.

Mobile App

You will now be able to capture a Patron's Tax Number and Pin when creating or updating an invoice.
When viewing an invoice, there is now an option under the action button menu to Apply or Remove a tax exemption. Only one option is available at a time so if there is no tax exemptions then the Apply option is visible. If there is a tax exemption then the Remove option is visible.
When applying a tax exemption a Tax Exemption Number is required, this number will also be printed on the invoice along with the Patron Tax Number and Pin if they were captured
If a tax exemption is applied to the invoice, the menu and cart will no long we available as you cannot at new items to the invoice. To add new items the tax exemption will have to be removed first.
The Dashboard widgets and the Shift Totals have been updated to cater for these new tax changes.

Outlets can now be marked for retail in the web app.

Mobile App

For retail outlets, a new app mode is available in the mobile app called "Retail Mode".
When signing into the app, selecting a retail outlet will automatically switch to this mode.
This new mode streamlines the invoice lifecycle from creation, through adding products, and payment.
  1. Invoice Creation: The default "home" screen will provide various ways in which to start a new invoice. Invoice creation is automatically handled when a product is picked or a barcode is scanned.
  1. Adding Products:The following methods are provided to facilitate adding products to a retail invoice:
    1. Hardware Barcode Scanner (Recommended): Use a dedicated hardware barcode scanner connected via USB. (Enquire for supported models.)
    2. Device Camera (Alternative): Use the device's camera to scan barcodes instead.
    3. Product Search (Alternative): Find a product based on its description or barcode from a list of products. These alternatives require an additional step to confirm quantity and that the correct item was scanned or selected. (This is similar to how the "Standard" app mode handles order placement.) Scanning a barcode automatically adds a new transaction for the scanned item.

 Payment

Payments work as before, except that:
After an invoice is closed post-payment, the NebulaPOS app will reset to a state where it is ready to start scanning products for a new invoice immediately. (This behaviour may vary depending on certain outlet settings such as automatic sign-out.) 

  1. Product Search: This feature provides a convenient way to quickly get information about sellable products. The product can be found from a list with search functionality. Alternatively, the device camera can be used (subject to hardware support) to scan the barcode on a product to get its information. Such information includes:
    1. Pricing, limited stock information and stock levels (subject to user rights), as well as up to 10 related products
    2. Other Features & Notes: Refunds are supported in retail mode and are consistent with the retail workflow. Transfers are not allowed for retail invoices.
