My Revenue Export path is not Valid, how do I fix this?

When Trying to do a Revenue Export to Pastel, Sage AccPac, Xero, Quickbooks or Bluubin an error might be received that The Export path is invalid.

There may be a number of reasons why this is occurring:
  1. The workstation does not have sufficient permissions to export to the folder across the network to the server.
  2. The Report path is incorrect.
As a temporary option or to opt to export to another folder follow the below steps:
  1. On the Revenue Export page, click on the folder icon and search for the folder or location where you would like to save the export.
  2. Click "OK" and complete the remaining fields such as the extension, period, from and to system date as well as the property code. Thereafter export files.
  3. The export will now be in the location you selected.
This is temporary as it does not change the location, it is only for the current session.

1. The workstation does not have sufficient permissions to write to the server
  1. Copy and paste the file path, for example \\server\HTI\Apex\Pastel\, into your windows explorer address bar.
  2. A message will appear stating Windows cannot access the file path.
  3. Ask your IT Technician for further assistance to check the read/write permissions for the HTI folder or sharing rights, as full rights should be granted.
2. The Report path is invalid
  1. Copy and paste the file path into windows explorer address bar.
  2. A message will appear stating Windows cannot access the file path.
  3. Ask your IT Technician for further assistance to check the read/write permissions for the HTI folder or sharing rights.
  4. Check that the Server IP address or Server name in the file path is correct.
  5. Does the Export or Pastel Folder Exist in the main Apex folder? - To check this right-click on the Apex shortcut on the desktop and then select "Open File location" look for the folder with the Apex folders. The name may be incorrect or misspelled, the folder may have been deleted or moved or the folder needs to be created.
  6. Another issue might be that the file path has D:\ or C:\, this is the local file path on the server if you try exporting from another workstation that is not the server it will try find the folder location on your workstation instead of the server.

To change/fix the Export path
  • Go to Administration -> General Administration -> System Defaults and Policies.
  • Go to the "Interface Settings" tab.
  • Search for the section that contains the "GL Revenue Export Interface Settings" and another Export Settings.
  • Click on "Change" button.
  • Next, Copy the IP address or Server name details that precede \HTI from the report path or change the IP address, server name or file path to the correct one.
  • If you have followed the above steps and by right-clicking on the Apex shortcut and opening file location, go into the export or Pastel folder, copy this address and paste it in the Export path followed by a backslash \ - this must be done from the workstation and not the server.
  • Close and reopen Apex and proceed to export the file again.
