1. Reservations from distribution channels (ADS) will not assign a meal plan, this field is left blank. Eg Booking.com Expedia, Agoda, Siteminder. The PMS will assign the meal plan as to what has been linked to it.
2. Reservations from API interfaces will assign the meal plan. Eg Booknow, Tourplan, Afristay, etc
Meal plans are defined in NebulaCRS and the Property Management System (PMS). The flow of information is as follows:
NebulaCRS/eRes will upload the rate amounts and seasons to the 3rd party channel, such as Booking.com. Once a booking a made on the channel, the reservations with the applicable mapped rate code will filter down to eRes.
eRes will assign the specified meal plan that are configured against this rate code to the reservation. When eRes sends the reservation to the PMS, the rate code as specified in the "CRS Mapping" field will be assigned. The PMS rate configuration will look at its own meal plan and distribution configuration.
Meal plans are not sent or updated on eRes by the channel Booking.com hence why we have rate codes to differentiate the meal plans. For example - BCOMBB & BCOMDBB.
PMS (Apex, NebulaPMS)
If the CRS code RACKBB is not mapped to any rate but rather, there is a Rack rate or another rate code that is ticked as CRS default, then the reservations will attach with that particular rate code and the meal plan associated.
To correct this add a Rate Season assignment in the PMS if it does not exist, input the CRS code BCOMBB and assign the default meal plan.
NB! Only one rate season assignment must be ticked as Use as CRS Default
Ensure there are valid Season assignment dates loaded and linked to a rate schedule to ensure that the distribution for Breakfast will take place.
