This guide outlines the proper procedures for adding new products, product variants, and custom menus within the system.
To add a new Stock or Non-Stock Item, follow these steps:
Click Create, then enter the item's Description.
Select a Group (revenue group), a Category and if applicable a SubCategory.
Click Create again.
For a Stock Item Variant:
In the General tab, click on Create Variant and you can add a description for the variant.
Complete the Pricing section by select the outlets. You can use universal pricing if the item is sold at multiple outlets.
Select the required Option Menus.
Complete the Stock Setup (bulk description, unit description, and bulk unit quantity).
Enter the Cost Pricing for each store. Adding the cost price will link to the Stores.
The Stock Levels tab will display current stock quantities, and you can set Par Levels per store.
Click Update to save the changes.
For a Non-Stock Item Variant:
After clicking Create Product, add the variant's description.
Select the Outlets to link the product variant to.
Choose Option Menus (e.g., grill temperature for a steak).
Assign a Stock Recipe or select Stock Reductions. For example, for a Passion Fruit and Lemonade mocktail, you would add two tots of Passion Fruit and one can of Lemonade (200ml).
A Custom Menu allows you to create unique menus for each property. This option is enabled from Accounts > Outlets > General Settings > Use Custom Menu. If this option is not selected, the system will use your Group as the main menu, Category as a submenu, and SubCategory as a sub-submenu. Only products linked to an outlet with a selling price will appear on the menu.
To create a new custom menu:
Create a Main Menu: Tick the Main Menu box and link it to a specific outlet or all outlets (e.g., Food or Beverage).
Create a Submenu: Link the new submenu to the main menu. You can specify if the submenu is for Starters, Mains, or Desserts, or leave this blank.
Link Products: You can link other submenus or individual products to your new submenu.
To deactivate a menu or submenu, simply unlink it from all assigned outlets.
